If you have not already done so, we strongly advise you to book your flight tickets as soon as possible!

!!!Important Notice!!!
If your port of entry to Egypt is not Luxor (ie. your flight is not direct to Luxor), you must claim your baggage at your arrival port, and re-checkin the luggage for the flight to Luxor (The airports in Egypt operate under the same system as in the USA, between international and domestic flights your baggage must pass through the customs control, luggage will not be forwarded automatically all the way to Luxor.)

For those participants who have a 3 hour or longer layover in Cairo before proceeding to Luxor, it is recommended that you spend your time in the Mövenpick lobby, which is ideally located between Terminal 2 (where most airlines, other than Egypt Air will land) and Terminals 1 and 3 (where the flights to Luxor leave from). You will have to take a taxi to and from the Mövenpick. The Cairo airport is currently undergoing extensive renovations, and it is therefore more comfortable, with more services, to stay for longer durations at the Mövenpick.

The price of a taxi from the airport in Luxor to the ISIS Pyramisa should cost 30 Egyptian pounds (per taxi, not per person - this is less than 5 euros). From the Cairo airport to the main train station, a taxi (for a normal taxi, not a limousine) should not cost more than 100 pounds (depending on the distance and the type of car). For a taxi between the terminals, 10 euros is the maximum you should pay, normally you should pay half this price.

The weather in Cairo is between 12-18 degrees during the day, but since the weather is dry it feels much colder. In Luxor, at night the temperature is around 8 degrees, and during the day it can reach up to 25 degrees, so dress in layers and be sure to bring something warm. Also...remember your swimming suit and tennis shoes! The Pyramisa has two outdoor swimming pools and a tennis court.

Visitors visas are for stays of one month in duration. Multiple entry visas allow for 3 visits to Egypt within this period. Visas are also issued at banking kiosks set up at the entrance to the emigration halls in Cairo, Luxor and Hurghada airports and at port emigration in Alexandria and Port Said.

If you are taking part in the post-conference tour please be sure to arrange your transportation accordingly, as the tour will end in Aswan.
