There is no better science to emphasise the interrelatedness of the various fields of science than nanoscience. NanoTech Insight fosters interdisciplinary collaboration.
We aim to excite, inspire, and facilitate exchange of knowledge and expertise between all fields of the nanodomain. The aim is not to build generalists, but rather to guide the specialists to effectively enrich their knowledge with a broader view of the latest developments across the spectrum of nanoresearch.

This conference not only draws together nanoscientists of all stripes, but it also places strong emphasis on the applications of nanotechnology for sustainable development with special sessions on nano ethics, environmental applications, and nanotechnology for industry. A serious discussion about the potential risks and benefits of nanotechnology is desperately needed at this time in order to bring about "responsible nanotechnology" and its great potential for sustainable development worldwide. Indeed, the United Nations Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) have their best chance of being met with the ongoing advancements of nanoscience.

Only a planned and integrated development of nanoscience involving all global research communities can hope to provide comprehensive solutions for sustainable development and address the most critical areas in need of targeting for developing countries (such as drug delivery, water remediation, agricultural productivity, etc.).
