In March 2007 the world's leading nanoscientists will gather for a second time in Luxor, Egypt to discuss the latest developments and trends in the hottest nanoresearch from across the globe.
Egypt is an ideal place to host such an event. In addition to the breathtaking and inspirational environment of Egypt for social networking, Egypt is also a leading research country and trend-setter in the Middle East, and a great place to build scientific collaborations.
Hosting the conference in Egypt provides an opportunity for the world's leading nano-scientists and business professionals to connect to the vast number of qualified researchers and business leaders in the Middle East and Africa and beyond.
Developing country researchers often find it difficult to attend most international meetings because of limitations in funding. By bringing conferences to the developing world, NanoTech Insight greatly increases the chances of the number of young interested scholars to take part and be inspired by the latest developments and innovative research.
At the 2005 conference over 42 different countries were represented amongst the conference participants, with approximately half the participants from the developing world.
Moreover, there is a growing interest by Middle Eastern and African governments to fund research and nano-initiatives. Nanotechnology has the power to provide cost-effective solutions for many of the development problems these governments face. By providing strategic support, developed countries can greatly increase the chances for the success of such initiatives.
It is hoped that in attending this conference and by sharing their ideas with developing country students and professors, the leading nanoscientists will do their part to continue to spread the benefits of education and research.
