Supratik Guha is presently Senior Manager, Semiconductor Materials and Devices Department at the IBM T. J. Watson Research Center in Yorktown Heights, NY. His responsibilities include driving IBM’s research activities in new materials for future CMOS front end applications and semiconductor based nanotechnologies. He also holds management responsibilites for programs in the area of the thermal physics of microprocessors, and silicon based microphotonics—projects that he initiated at IBM over the past five years. His own research interests are in the area of nanoscale semiconductor materials science and the exploration of new materials technologies on silicon platforms. Supratik received his Ph.D. in materials science from the University of Southern California in 1991. He has authored over 75 refereed publications and book chapters and presented numerous invited talks. He holds 21 issued patents. He is also currently an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Applied Physics and Mathematics at Columbia University.
